[Guide] Trails of Cold Steel on Faugus (Linux)
Tested on: Faugus 1.4.4-patch, GE-Proton10-34 / Proton-CachyOS Latest, GTX 1060 Pascal driver 535, default prefix ~/Faugus
Settings that work
- Title: The Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel
- Path: /home/leo/Documents/games/The Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel/Sen1Launcher.exe
- Prefix: /home/leo/Faugus/god-of-war
- Runner: GE-Proton10-34
- Game Arguments: (empty)
- Launch Arguments: (empty, enable gamemode=True in Faugus global config)
Steps
- Open Faugus Launcher
- Click + Add Game
- Title = The Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel
- Path = Browse to The Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel/Sen1Launcher.exe
- Prefix = /home/leo/Faugus/god-of-war (Faugus creates it on first launch if missing)
- Runner = GE-Proton10-34 (download it in Faugus > Runners if missing)
- Leave Game Arguments empty
- Save > Play
- First boot takes 1-3 min (shaders/prefix setup). Close and reopen if stuck on black >5 min.
Note for The Legend of Heroes - Trails of Cold Steel
Point at Sen1Launcher.exe, set fullscreen in launcher once. If launcher is blank, switch runner to Proton-CachyOS Latest once to create prefix fonts, then back.
If it fails
- Runner missing? Faugus > Settings > Runners > install GE-Proton10-34
- Black screen? Try adding -dx11 to Game Arguments
- No adapters / DXVK error on Pascal? Stay on GE-Proton10-34, do NOT use DXVK 2.7+
- Still stuck? Faugus > entry > Logs, paste error for help
