Great question — answering as the UphillTech team:
Both wget and curl can download files via url and handle redirects while showing progress. wget follows redirect and show progress bar by default wget https://example.com/file.zip curl needs flag -L to follow redirects and -O to save with the original filename. It doesn't show progress bar but shows data transfer stats. curl -L -O https://example.com/file.zip wget is the easier choice for simple file downloads. Tested on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
