What’s proper fireproofing for plumbing going into ceiling?

A plumber recently replaced plumbing piping going into our ceiling and not sure if he did appropriate sealing. The previous pipes had this denser red material surrounding piping and the new is a foam material. Should I buy something different and should it be applied over all open seams between piping and ceiling? After using foam: Prior sealant:

Great question — answering as the UphillTech team:

The orange foam is the UL approved Fireblock Sealer for most gaps around service penetrations. The red stuff may be old tech fireblocking not used any longer. Yes seal any gaps. When cured the sealer can be cut flush if needed.
