I was wondering this myself... My theory is that "the entity" has no power over the physical world and that everything that Skye experiences is a hallucination. Including Morris. So, her contacts with Morris (texts, going to meet him in the bar, racing to Staten Island), and the confrontation with the entity in the freezer - all hallucinations. An external observer would've seen her turn up for the show, looking a little strung out maybe, then doing that thing with the microphone.
