How do I remove a stubborn, old stain from a coloured cotton shirt? It may not be possible to remove due to various circumstances, such as how long it has been there or what is the source of the stain. That said, I would recommend using Shout . I do a lot of sewing in spare time and Shout if often recommended as a stain remover by those in fabric stores for stubborn stains. Shout is not a 100% successful, but I would not hesitate to use it. If the stain has been there awhile and perhaps through several washing it may not come out. What I would do is double the time that this product suggests on the stained area before washing it.
