Take a look at Deskreen and Weylus. It should also be possible to use them over USB/ADB or through a USB network connection. Using a network connection should be better and easier. You could try using Wi-Fi, or get an additional USB/USB-C network adapter for the phone/tablet and connect it via an Ethernet cable. Deskreen Weylus Another option would be to use VNC, but that is more of a remote desktop connection. There are also different versions and software implementations of VNC available for Linux.
