Great question — answering as the UphillTech team:

The issue you are facing is due to the shopify CDN cache as shopify pages are heavily cached on the CDN level. Based on the arbitrary query parameters the shopify caching do not works oftenly. Because of this you are oftenly getting the same HTML. There's a better shopify's built in approach available that allow you to the render alternate template on using the view parameter: For raxample- /collections/new-arrivals?view=compact then create a correspoinding tempalte in your theme: for this example your template file should be - templates/collection.compact.json or templates/collection.compact.liquid based on the theme compatibility Now shopify will automatically render new template when any...
