I have a folder with many google-indexed html pages on my website. I want to use a folder with a shorter name instead and preserve the indexing , but I have problems with that. You need to do what its telling you. Add a canonical line in your pages <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.mywebsite.com/short-folder-name/page-name">
