Great question — answering as the UphillTech team:
The issue has been solved by powerd and customization on sysctl.conf and loader.conf On file /etc/rc.conf : powerd_enable="YES" powerd_flags="-n adaptive -a hiadaptive -b adaptive -M 1800" performance_cx_lowest="Cmax" economy_cx_lowest="Cmax" Adding this in /etc/sysctl.con to disable devices that doesn't have driver. hw.pci.do_power_nodriver=3 Finally, we must load ACPI for Thinkpad and sound by adding this lines: acpi_ibm_load="YES" # ThinkPad ACPI extensions acpi_video_load="YES" # Brightness control coretemp_load="YES" # Intel CPU temperature snd_hda_load="YES" # For Sound It is not like Voidlinux 100% but close it, the resources for this solution is ACPI Management .
