Provided you can afford it, there is no problem with that. In fact, it will probably improve his chances (marginally). Having his wife and newborn child living in the UK is already a strong reason for your husband to want to stay in the UK rather than return to Ethiopia. If you had a house to live in as a family it would be even more tempting.
