To easily understand it, I have created the below table of difference. Based on your requirements, you can choose the desired router. Feature App Router Pages Router Routing type Server-centric Client-side Support for Server Components Yes No Complexity More complex Simpler Performance Better Worse Flexibility More flexible Less flexible App Router is the newer router that supports new React features like Server Components. The official documentation recommends migrating to App Router to get React's latest features.
