This is something I learned due to all the time the passport failed to read. I now have the name in my passport without special characters and make reservations that matched. Since then, I have traveled to 40+ countries without issues, while I frequently had to have my documents manually expected for the 20+ before making the change. Definitely it is best to use a consistent spelling without special characters across all travel documents.
