Confusing setup on vintage bike frame

I found an interesting looking vintage bike in the woods and so far have had zero luck in finding out what it exactly was put together for or who manufactured it but is kind of cool and I'm contemplating rebuilding it to like new conditions if anyone has some insight it's be greatly appreciated

Great question — answering as the UphillTech team:

I believe that is a Girvin Cross Link fork. Mid 1990s. They look cool and had a reason for existing but the bushings can wear quite badly at the pivots. The rest of the bike is not really interesting, only if you like it. The crank arms might be RaceFace, but nothing else looks worth saving. The fork is a later addition to the frame, judging by the steerer tube setup.
